The church clearly needs the ministry of the pastor,
prophet, teacher, evangelist & apostle !
(not written in any specific meaning of order)
These gifts & ministries are vital for a healthy church & for the leaders to stay healthy, as
not one man is gifted in all these individual giftings. The purpose of these gifts are to mature the saints.....
no wonder we have the church asleep & complacent if the pastor or pastors on their own are running the
whole show & controlling everything. WE will never see a vibrant, evangelical & powerful church, that is
challenged to step out & take action. Sure we will see a comfortable, loving & solid church, but the danger
is that it more than likely will get fat on bless me lord meetings & worship. Or same goes for an evangelist
that is trying to run the church on his own, perhaps there will be no strong relationships & maturing in God.
This is not what God intended, but rather for no one to lord it over as an individual but rather the 5 fold
ministry ministering evenly & equipping
the whole church. (sure there may be a head elder, but his roll is to facilitate not dominate) 

Mark 10:42-44
"Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the
Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. not so with you.
Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants
to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many."
